Ruth Francis is a strategic communications consultant with experience in achieving global coverage and creating targeted campaigns for scientific research. For nearly a decade she ran the Nature press office and went on to oversee open access communications for Springer, including managing the highly regarded BioMed Central communications team. With a reputation as a bold communications consultant, she has provided strategic support, spoken on expert panels, written for Nature and appeared on the Guardian Science Podcast. Ruth has also worked in press offices at King’s College London and Cancer Research UK. She has a BA Hons. in English from the University of Leeds.
