Get an insight on Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation
Are you confused by the requirements on Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation (D&E) in EU research funding?
On 9 July, you will get a chance to learn more on those topics at the ESOF satellite event on "Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation in EU research" organised by the European Commission.
To get EU funding, applicants have the obligation to engage in Communication, D&E activities. However, it is not always clear to them what is the distinction between the three and how they can concretely implement their plans.
During this event we will give an overview on Communication, D&E under the next EU research framework program. You will have a chance to hear successful projects who conducted original and innovative activities in these fields and take part in a panel discussion with the audience. IPR helpdesk will also be present with a booth to answer specific questions.
This half-day event is free and open to EU project coordinators, future applicants and ESOF delegates. More information on registrations by sending an email to RTD-J5-ESOF@ec.europa.eu, please write your name, organisation and capacity (ESOF delegates or H2020 project).

RRING Aim and Goal
Aim: The overall project aim of RRING is to bring Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) into the linked up global world to promote mutual learning and collaboration in RRI. This will be achieved by the formation of the global RRING community network and by the development and mobilisation of a global Open Access RRI knowledge base. RRING will align RRI to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a global common denominator.
Goal: The RRING project acknowledges that each region of the world is advancing its own agenda on RRI. Therefore, RRING will not be producing a Global RRI framework or strategy that is meant to be enforced in a top-down manner. Rather, increased coherence and convergence in RRI will be achieved via a bottom-up approach, learning from best practices in RRI globally and from linkages, via the new RRING community, to develop the RRI linked-up world.

The scientific collaboration between South Africa (SA) and the European Union (EU) is monitored and facilitated by the Joint Science and Technology Cooperation Committee (JSTCC), established under the Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement concluded in 1996. This is the first agreement that the EU and SA signed since democracy in 1994. The committee meets on an annual basis. The operational outcomes of the Joint Committee are captured in a “Roadmap” for cooperation jointly developed by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the EU counterparts. The Roadmap identifies actions to promote SA-EU research and innovation cooperation in priority areas of mutual interest. One of the outcomes of the JSTCC is the platform for Strengthening Technology, Research and Innovation Cooperation between SA and Europe (referred to as ESASTAP) was set up through funding from the EC and a contribution by the DST. In 2016, The EU and SA celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement, driving their bilateral Research & Innovation relations. The Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement was concluded in 1996 and entered into force in November 1997.
